I'm running Windows XP professional on my main machine (Dell laptop). I can boot up OK, but when I get to the Windows desktop, very time I use the start button the startmenu pops open but then immediately closes. I've been able to shut the laptop down by <Ctrl><Alt><Del> then in the <Windows Task Manager> holding the mouse button down (without releasing) I got to the Menu and used the <shut down> instruction. I've trolled the internet for similar problems but to no avail! I'm using my other laptop at present!2 people need an answerI do too
